Calling for expressions of interest for the Australian Institute of Police Management leadership program 2026-27

Expressions of interest are now open for the Australian Institute of Police Management leadership program.

AFAC is supporting capability development across the emergency management sector through its annual offering of leadership programs and courses. In partnership with the Australian Institute of Police Management (AIPM), AFAC is conducting a range of courses in executive leadership and organisational strategy.

The calendar of programs for the 2026-27 financial year has now been published.

Expressions of interest (EOI) are now open for the courses listed above. Agencies and individuals are encouraged to reserve places ahead of the nomination deadline to ensure that enough places are allocated for AFAC member agencies.

Several of the courses will fill quickly so AFAC encourages EOIs to be sent to nicola.laurence@afac.com.au for the courses they wish to attend. Nomination forms are not required at this stage.

EOIs will close on Friday, 24 April 2026.

Graduate certificate and graduate diploma programs

  • The graduate certificate and graduate diploma programs commence at the beginning of 2027 and conclude at the end of 2027. The distance education and residential dates have yet to be confirmed.
  • The 4‑week online HEEP program is a prerequisite for the graduate programs, and its cost is already included in the program fees.
  • The graduate diploma requires the completion of AIPMs graduate certificate program (or the equivalent). The equivalent program must have similar learning outcomes to the AIPMs graduate certificate to be eligible.
