Our guideline

(see full document attached below)

AFAC offers industry expertise to support AFAC Members and others to carry out a range of operational assurance activities. AFAC Members will, of course, have their own capacity to carry out debriefs, after-action reviews, postseason reviews and the like. AFAC capability is intended to be called upon in circumstances where a member may benefit from independent input to examination of an operational incident.

This guideline outlines the range of services available, and discusses the general principles that will apply to AFAC contributions to assurance activities. No two assurance activities are the same, so it is not desirable to be prescriptive about the way in which they should unfold. Certain underlying principles, however, will apply to all assurance activities in which AFAC is involved, and this guideline provides information both for members who are contemplating or have asked AFAC to undertake operational assurance activities, and for AFAC staff and nominees who may be involved in managing the process.
