The focus of this AFAC position is to promote the safety of the community and their property through the correct installation and maintenance of PV array systems, as well as ensure the safety of fire and emergency service personnel in the handling and response to fires and other emergencies with PV array systems. It does so by describing the context in which hazards are likely and by identifying and articulating national principles to reduce risk where residential and commercial installation of PV array systems has occurred.
