- PUASS00108 Firefighting Appliance Pump Technician Skill Set.
- PUAEQU002 Conduct maintenance and repair of firefighting pump unit of competency.
The skill set can be accessed here: www.training.gov.au.
The Firefighting Appliance Pump Technician Skill Set provides the foundational skills and knowledge required to inspect, service, maintain, and repair firefighting appliance pump sets to manufacturer and organisational standards. It is primarily designed for technician’s working on firefighting appliances.
The AFAC Fleet Technical Group provided seven subject matter experts to form part of PSA Technical Committee. AFAC was represented by Craig Armstrong from Fire and Rescue NSW, Bryce Bell from Queensland Fire Department, Steve O’Shea from Country Fire Authority, Ken Stewart from Department of Fire and Emergency Services, Andrew Triffett from Tasmania Fire Service, Jason Kleeman from Country Fire Service, and Lee Watson, Volunteer at Country Fire Service. AFAC would like to thank the committee members for their excellent contribution and expertise.
AFAC’s Director of Industry Workforce Development, Sandra Lunardi, and Manager of Standards and Strategic Development, Brett Michie, provided project management and editorial support to assist in the development of the project.
Lastly congratulations to James Stroud, PSA’s Manager of Training Packages and Quality, and Liam Downey, PSA’s Training Product Manager, for managing this project through to publication and the other members of the PSA Technical Committee who represented other key stakeholders within the project.
