Standard Title: AS 2419.5 - Fire hydrant installations - Part 5: Dry fire hydrant systems design, installation and commissioning

Status of work:

In response to feedback from the Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) representative, an amended/updated project proposal has been resubmitted to Standards Australia and the ABCB for the development of a new Australian Standard for dry fire hydrant systems.

At the time of writing this update, no feedback has been received from either Standards Australia or the ABCB on the progression of the amended project proposal.

Key issues that agencies should be aware of: 

None currently, however, should the project proposal be supported by the ABCB, all AFAC member agencies will be invited to contribute to the development of this standard due to its topical nature.

A meeting of FP-009 is proposed to be held in November 2025 (to be confirmed). At this meeting the revision of AS 2419.3 is likely to be discussed.
