This framework is an agreed approach to training and assessment. It will inform recognition arrangements for current and future personnel performing these roles. In the future, deployment of personnel inter- and intra-state will be based on confirmation that they have the requisite certification to perform one or more of the defined aviation roles.

Consistent with an all hazards approach, future versions of this document are intended to encompass the use of aviation beyond fire.
