Conducting Successful Debriefs: Research Insights into Good Practice

Debriefs help individuals, as well as teams and organisations, learn from their experiences to help improve operational capability.

These Research Insights were prepared by Dr Christine Owen, Dr Peter Hayes, Dr Ben Brooks and Ms Debbie Vogel provides a review of published literature across a range of scientific disciplines on the effectiveness of debriefings and identifies implications for practitioners. It provides a synopsis of key Bushfire CRC research and its application to the facilitation of effective debriefs.

The publication also captures and reports on industry insights and perspectives into current and future practice. These insights were provided to the authors through consultation with AFAC's Learning and Development Group.

This book is part of a collection of resources that have been purpose designed for practitioners who facilitate debriefings. The two other titles in the collection are:
