Workshop: Visions of Sharing Responsibility for Disaster Resilience

This one-day workshop will examine the idea and practice of sharing responsibility for disaster resilience. The idea of ‘shared responsibility’ is shaping emergency management thinking in Australia. It has gained significant policy traction following the Victorian 2009 Bushfires Royal Commission and the release of the National Strategy for Disaster Resilience. Similar ideas have been circulating in other sectors for some time.

Road Rescue Challenge Tasmania 2012

The Road Rescue Challenge Tasmania 2012 conference will demonstrate best practice in road crash management as well as providing a forum for agencies involved in road rescue to learn new techniques and skills and expose them to new car technology.

Commencing with a learning symposium followed by three days of practical scenario competition and learning workshops, the event will also include a trade exhibition designed to showcase the latest technology in rescue equipment.

Australian Community Engagement & Fire Awareness Conference

The 2012 conference theme is ‘Fire Up Engagement!’. The conference will focus on ways to encourage responsiveness to, and support for, Community Engagement within small groups, communities and organisations. ‘Fire Up Engagement’ is also about community engagement strategies, programs and projects that assist to achieve behavioural change, particularly in the Emergency Services sector. This conference aims to share information, inspire delegates and provide an energetic forum to network.
