Volunteering Australia has secured the support of a major sponsor to conduct a national “volunteer thank you” media campaign to start mid March running through to National Volunteer Week (11th to 17th May).
The campaign will run across TV, radio and press and will feature a broad range of volunteers. Given the recent major bushfires in Victoria and floods in Queensland Volunteering Australia will utilise stock newsroom footage from those events. The key message will be to thank volunteers for their ongoing commitment to their communities and draw focus to National Volunteer Week as a great opportunity for public acknowledgement.
Volunteering Australia anticipate significant media support to feature this advertising and have partnered with Mitchell Communications, Australia’s largest independent media buyer, and Accelerator Communications to put the campaign together. Volunteering Australia are confident that they will receive more than $1mil of air time and hope for significantly more based on Mitchell’s past success.
The focus of this campaign is to thank volunteers in all capacities without focusing on one segment or agency and therefore this campaign should complement any agency specific message that AEMVF agencies may be planning.
Agencies interested in exploring how you can coordinate with this initiative to promote your volunteers or would simply like more information contact Peter Cocks Volunteering Australia on 03 9868 5519 or 0417 398 232.
