Becoming an AFAC Member

Welcome to the Australasian Fire and Emergency Service Authorities Council (AFAC), Australasia’s leading industry body with members drawn from every state and territory in Australia, New Zealand and from around the Pacific. Since 1993 our members have been sharing their accumulated knowledge, experience and a desire to learn - a foundation upon which AFAC continues to build.

Membership of AFAC comprises those organisations that have responsibility for delivering or supporting the provision of fire, land management, community safety and emergency services. With a workforce of over thirty thousand employees and over 200,000 volunteers, AFAC members operate in a risky, dynamic, complex and challenging environment.

As a network of emergency management practitioners and technical experts we work together to solve common problems and advance the knowledge and practice of emergency management to the benefit of our communities.

What We Offer

AFAC offers its members the opportunity to participate in a collaboration network of senior emergency management practitioners and technical experts. Being a member of AFAC also brings with it access to the industry's collective knowledge and experience gained from managing a broad range of emergencies and disasters over many years.
